Supreme Court Preview

We are now into October. The football season previews have come and gone, and a lot of people are already running hard from their predictions of a month ago (Funny how fast the Dolphins bandwagon has emptied -- naturally dcat would never say "I told you so . . ."). The fall tv previews have given way to the fall television realities as some series have already bitten the dust while others seem set to prosper. Now Linda Greenhouse presents her preview of the Supreme Court session set to begin this week. If year one of the Roberts Court was marked by more quiescence and less controversy than many pundits expected, Greenhouse argues that this year could be different. The court will address issues on abortion rights, the limitation of punitive damages, racial quotas, and government regulation of air pollution, quite likely answering the question the New York Times (which published Greenhouse's preview) asks in an editorial today: "Whose Court is it Anyway?"
