That's right. This guy! The giddy one who probably won't get any work done between now and Saturday. #1 versus #2. Under the lights at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Too bad you are still a tool
A sledgehammer.
Wait, was God lost? Did he have a late night of drinking beer at the Damons in Delaware, Ohio? because I have to say, I've spent enough time in Columbus to know that if he lives there, I'm converting to Hinduism. Ain't nothing to worship about a deity that sets up shop in Columbus.
Name the bet, son.

How about our local teams? Two items of apparel for you from UTPB, for me from UVM. Buyer chooses but promises to buy cool stuff -- t shirts, shorts, hats, etc. and not baby bibs or babydoll tees or any nonsense like that?

Oh, and remember your Mom's last words? "Don't let him get out of control."
Um, do you remember how we felt at breakfast the next morning?

Oh yes. We had breakfast. My goodness did we have breakfast. And of course your parenths were vibrant and chatty and we had to feign being death warmed over. Good times.
I dig on hats. I like cool, classic tees, and I'm always down with the mesh shorts as well. make mine XL so I have room to breathe. I told my students in my US 1929-1945 class about the bet, so i am looking forward to showing up in class late next week in UVM regalia. Go Catamounts!

Mmmmmmmm . . . sports.
Texas will win. Ohio State will be fighting bad leftover karma from the Clarett thing for years to come. The football gods will never let Tressel win another meaningful game (see OSU at Penn State last year). Bowl games against Notre Dame to decide who finishes #5 in the country don't count as big games.
By the way, anyone know if what Andy Katzenmoyer is doing nowadays? I wonder if his AIDS education class came in handy.
The Clarett thing? You mean kicking him off the team the first time he acted up at Ohio State? Because we all know that the Miami team OSU beat for the National Championship ere a bunch of fine upstanding citizens who had karma on their side. Ditto USC over the past few years.
And I'm a little confused about how OSU destroying Notre Dame in a BCS bowl isn't a big game. And if the karma gods were truly against the Buckeyes, would they keep beating Michigan?
I don't think OSU is going to beat Texas, but that's only because the defense will have a bit of a down year from losing so many guys. The Buckeyes could win in a shootout, but I don't think that would be a very good sign for the rest of the season. No matter what happens, though, Maurice Clarett and karma have nothing to do with it.
Thunderstick and I were exchanging emails about the game earlier today when he made a good point. usually in a game like this you see both teams and say team X could win in a blowout or it could be a close game, but team Y would be incapable of winning in a blowout. In this game, I don't see a blowout, but I do not see either team as being incapable of a blowout either. If OSU's D is not ready to go, for example, or if UT's freshman qb(s) is/are not ready for prime time it could be ugly. But otherwise I expect something like 38-34, UT.
