Conservatives Who Think the GOP Should Lose
The latest Washington monthly has a series of articles under the penumbral title "Why We Should Go" giving arguments as to why it would be best for the GOP to lose the midterm elections. The contributors include Christopher Buckley, Bruce Bartlett, Joe Scarborough, William A. Niskanen, Bruce Fein, Jeffrey Hart and Richard A. Viguerie. The justifications run a gamut and some of the explanatons may surprise you.

It was funny how Scarborough described Dick Armey with the qualifier: (R-Whiskey Gulch).
You'd think maybe some of these guys would now get the balls to form a new party, since the divided government they now hint at as a solution is a bit easier to provide with more than just two choices for each branch. But they won't, and instead we'll just get more attention to projects like Porkbusters, which I suppose is a good 'ole American way to put a better band-aid on at least that problem.
As far as better management of foreign policy goes though, it's hard to conceive of a workable grass-roots, non-partisan, non-governmental(!), outsider's approach to helping with that.
