Charles Dew on Slavery and the Constitution

My undergraduate advisor Charles Dew is both a truly great scholar of Southern history and is one of the finest men in the profession. I took his wonderful three-course sequence on Southern history at Williams and those classes largely explain why I do what I do. Professor Dew is a Williams alum and a native Southerner. In September he gave Williams' Constitution Day Lecture, which you can listen to here.. I still cherish the fact that I was able to develop a relationship with this wonderful teacher and writer. Enjoy.
