A Bad Weekend

On balance, this was not the greatest of all weekends. Of course we have the Patriots' loss (see below) but also the fact that BC geeked their game against Wake Forest, a game that could have boosted them into the upper echelon of one-loss teams but that instead casts them back among the pack of marginal contenders. Borat, for reasons I do not want to contemplate, has not yet come ot the Odessa-Midland metroplex. And the end of the World Series did not mark the end of the incessant playing of that awful John Mellencamp truck commercial.

In the plus column, we had a totally awesome 80s Trivial Pursuit party on Saturday night in which i emerged as the big winner. I was also able to see Catch a Fire on Friday, which was great, if a bit on the grim side. (I hope to have more on the movie in the next day or two.)
