Write Like Sportsguy!

Well, it was inevitable, wasn't it? Realizing that Bill Simmons, the Sportsguy, has a style, and that even his most loyal readers can sometimes grow a little weary of that style, the guys at The Chicago Sports Review have created a template to write your own Sportsguy column. Enjoy! (Tip o' the cap to Deadspin.)

Excellent premise, but strangely unsatisfying. I did create this section, which made me laugh:

"However, this league only had one slot open, so Bish and I agreed to partner up, in the hope that one of us could switch over and manage the next vacancy. After much debate, and eliminating the excellent possibilities of 'Naked Monopoly with pot holders' and 'Tony Siragusa's Shiny Circus Circus' as potential team names, we settle on 'Candyasses.'"

I agree -- it does not really work: his regular readers could on their own do a better job -- but the very fact that we all sort of smile with recognition over the very idea of a Sportsguy article template is pretty great.
