I have received several emails regarding the aesthetics of the blog. Some have complained that while the black background looks cool, it is not easy on the eyes. I know that Andrew Sullivan's white-on-blue background is often a source of complaints, and I'd hate to lose some of my first readers as a result. So please weigh in on if you like this look or not, and if you know of a lot of other blogs that have chosen this particular appearance.

I wouldn't use this, myself (that green!), but it's better than the eye-popper you had before.
I kind of like the ugly green. I had another that I liked as well, but the coding was bizarre for links, and I am new enough at this that I really did not want to have to put that sort of work into my blog.
I've been using this template for a year now (except my green is pink--maybe they knew I'm a girl?), and I find that it's less easily customized than some of the other blogger templates. If you plan to gradually tweak things, this might not be an ideal base template.

Huh. I'd hate to go back to the drawing board, as I am finally comfortable with this (well, until the next thing I cannot figure out how to do). What sorts of things have proven especially problematic -- I doubt I'll be making any huge adjustments given my techno-inhibited ways.

It's mostly the column widths that have proven resistant to my efforts to change them. And when I make changes to the sidebar (which I do kind of frequently), I find that the divider lines in the main column get wonked up. They're small things, but they're always small things for which I can't find workarounds.
