South Africans are understandably outraged over the punishment given to a teacher who
tried to sign his name on some of his female students' buttocks. He received three years of correctional services supervision. According to one of his students (and yes, while I cannot help but find this funny, the girls were 12-13 years old, so it is also more than a bit creepy):
"He was telling us that he was very determined to put his signature on our bums."
The 34 year old teacher, Mafa Chauke, will also be blacklisted from the teaching profession in South Africa. We should probably credit the crack investigation unit in Port Elizabeth for getting to the bottom of this. (Sorry. So sorry.)
