A new website called SinceSlicedBread.com is having a contest to see who can come up with the best new idea.
According to their website, a panel of judges will select the top 21 ideas. “The winner receives a grand prize of $100,000 and our commitment to work to make the idea a reality. The two runners-up take home $50,000. All 21 ideas will be featured in a book to be published in 2006.”
From healthcare to Social Security, from immigration to education, this site offers people a great opportunity to express their ideas of how government can work better. I urge anyone who has some new or innovative idea to put their time and effort into exploring the practical suggestions for implementing them!

I might nominate the Thunderstick's greatest brainstorm ever (beyond, perhaps, the one that earned him his nickname): The Meat Bucket. At the beginning of each week when he was in grad school at (We Are) Penn State, he would grill up a ton of meat. Then he would toss it all in a big bucket in the fridge for consumption throughout the week. I tend to prefer my food cooked fresh these days, but as far as grad school creations go, that was one of the greats. And keep in mind that this allowed him to cook once a week, and the TS is one of the laziest men ever to earn a PhD.
