Not only France, but there are four in Italy and I question whether the person that put this together has seen these things--he's got visit the Vatican as one and see the Sistine Chapel...the Sistine Chapel is in the Vatican!! Granted you can go into the Vatican church for free and you have to pay to go into the museum to see the Sistine Chapel, but really, this should be one thing.

It definitely smacks of Eurocentrism -- seven in France or Italy, while just stepping foot in Africa is enough. And you'll notice how little sports-related stuff is up there, which seems rather limiting. Generally speaking it's a pretty random list, of course, but it kills some time.

Prof...did you put this together? Wow, I haven't done half of the things on this list, I better get busy. The one I'm interested in is visiting the land of my ancestors. I hope all is well, Happy Holidays!

Nope, this is not of my own making. I ran across it from a friend's blog.
Happy holidays to you as well. You'll make that trip someday, I'm sure.

No. 66 jumped out at me and I'm thankful to say I had the opportunity to visit Daccau during my European tour in the summer of '98. Sobering doesn't begin to describe it.

That's definitely on my list.
Perhaps apropos, I am participating in a seminar on the Holocaust and other genocides at the Holocaust Museum in DC in early January. I'll be trying to bring in the African perspective, which, as in most all matters, is easy to overlook or at least to reduce, warp, or misrepresent.
