Self-Indulgence Alert!

Cliff May, President of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, gives me some props in the FDD "News & Notes," for my recent argument about "The Unbearable Lightness of Howard Zinn."

Off the topic, but...I'm not sold on the Sox. Seriously. Sure they've won more games than anyone. But where's that aura of greatness? Would you bet on them in a short series with the Yanks or Angels? Me neither...They remind me of muscle car that has three or four vital screws loose.

Matt --
The Sox are killing me. Thank God for this past weekend, because that sweep would be even more damaging. postseason will be interesting because the Sox have the best pitching, the Yankees the best hitting, the Angels the best balance, the Mariners freaky matchup issues, the Tigers and Indians the battle-tested factor (I think that race will be the last decided and that the central won't yield the Wild Card, so it will be pretty intense).

The Sox have no offensive depth. we saw that this last three days.
