Talking US Politics in China

Today (in China, last night in Texas) I was again on China Radio International's "Today Show." Last night's theme was US politics, with particular focus on the State of the Union, the sequester, and the like. I was in especially cranky form.

Just heard the "Talking Politics' audio..... You spoke with a lot of adverbial negativity but no substance on specifics.....Pure rhetoric....

Fair enough, but I'm assuming you've never done a media appearance like that. There is a finite amount of time and they are asking for brief answers. I also am willing to bet that if you agreed with that rhetoric you would not be quite so critical. Also, I'm not certain I used a lot of "adverbial negativity." Adjectival negativity, perhaps? In any case, yes, I was speaking on the radio, so there was a good deal of rhetoric. At least I placed my name behind that rhetoric, though. So I have that going for me. Which is nice.
