Saving Jeff Reardon

David Whitley of the Orlando Sentinel has a heartbreaking story on former all-time major League saves leader (and one-time Red Sox closer) Jeff Reardon. Reardon lost his 20-year-old son and, not surprisingly, his world fell apart. A year ago he committed a perplexing robbery, largelky as a result of his depression and a reliance on a vat of medicines. A court found Reardon not guilty because of temporary insanity, and he still struggles to piece his life back together.
