The New Haven Review of Books

It's not the American Review of Books that my friend, erstwhile golf partner, and some-time mentor Jeff Herf famously called for a few months back at Open University, and it might only be a one-off, but The New Haven Review of Books has produced an issue. Even if this is not a one-time thing, it is unclear whether the NHRB will do more than involve the estimable talents in the New Haven area, but in an era of newspapers reducing their books coverage, at least the folks within Yale's penumbra have gotten the ball rolling.

And the thing is, it's not even a bunch of Yalies -- the majority of us have no Yale connection. And note contributions by estimable book critic George Scialabba from Massachusetts and prizewinning poet Jonathan Fink from Florida. Anyway, thanks for the mention. --Mark OPpenheimer

Mark --
Thanks for writing. I knew the NHRB consisted of contributors drawn largely from the New Haven area, but was unaware that it really is that independent of the university.
Will there be another issue? If so, is it then safe to assume that non-New Havenites can contribute? If so, how? I have something I just so happen to have an interest in sharing . . .

Cheers --
