Git Yer Hot Dogs Here!

MSN has one man's opinions on the seven best hot dog places in the country. I cannot vouch for any of them, but any time we can talk about hot dogs is a good time here at dcat. Indeed, we had a great conversation on this topic when I raised a similar issue, listing some of my own favorites, at the late great Rebunk.

Any of the three New York chains (Papaya King, Gray's Papaya, Papaya Dog) will do, with a pineapple drink.

I can tell you what does NOT belong on the list: The Mayan Theater in San Antonio where we just took my godson/nephew to see Monsters vs. Aliens. Yuck (the hot dog, not the movie, which was hardly great but was fun, and especially so because the newly-turned-four-year-old liked it).

I'm in San Antonio and so we had agua frescas, including pina, pineapple, which was great. We had them, fruit cups, gorditas, and tacoes, as well as corn-and-mayonaisse, from my favorite taco stand in the world, Los Valles, in South San Antonio. Yum!

I'm making my way around the Permian Basin and have found few that're even close to being as good as the Ballpark Grillmaster that I can prep right at home. However, you can certainly do much worse than Fuddrucker's for a hotdog...
