African Studies Quarterly has published my latest
review essay of two similarly titled but very different books: James Barber's
Mandela’s World: The International Dimension of South Africa’s Political Revolution, 1990-99, which I liked, and Sean Jacobs' and Richard Calland's edited collection,
Thabo Mbeki’s World: The Politics and Ideology of the South African President, with which I had problems.
