New Orleans and the Democrats in 2008?

Over at The New Republic online Michael Sean Winters argues compellingly that the Democrats ought to hold their 2008 convention in New Orleans. Sounds like a good idea to me. Logistically it might be a daunting accomplishment, but symbolically New Orleans would provide a powerful backdrop.
