Welcome to DCAT

I am Derek Catsam, formerly of the late, great History News Network blog Rebunk (More on my departure in a future post). This should be more of the same, except I'll be flying solo, at least for the time being. The boys from Rebunk and I are fine -- nothing happened on that front.

This will be a place where I, and hopefully we, will discuss and argue about history, politics, sports, books, and whatever else is on my mind. I will likely have regular features on books or movies and the like, which will be different from Rebunk. Another big difference will be that I am responsible for my own site maintenance, and at least at first things might be both a bit rocky and more than a little spartan. It will take a bit of time before most of you find me and probably longer before I become a regular stop, but I hope that happens.

Oscar -- Thanks. I'm not so certain if I am up for it, but we'll see how it goes. it will be slow at first, but will surely pick up.

Ladies and gentlemen, the legendary Thunderstick is in the house. And it's great to see Greg, Oscar and Chris coming over. Please come visit regularly.

Derek, I hope you are aware that there is a similarly titled blog with a similar address called D's Cat. I mistakenly linked it on my site. It was funny for a while until I got sick of reading about this person's cat. You're much more interesting.

Greg --
I find that endlessly amusing. I have added Tie 'Em Tight to the links, an unacceptable ommission at Rebunk.

Thanks, Derek. I always knew there was something deeply flawed about Rebunk.
